Frequently Asked Questions

Will AutoWater work with my garden layout?

AutoWater can be planned for one to four eligible raised beds, including beds smaller than 4 × 8 feet and many row, L-shaped, or grouped layouts. Wood, metal, and composite beds are supported. After ordering, we review your photos and measurements before preparing the system. If the layout is not compatible, we will cancel the order and give you a full refund.

Can each bed be controlled separately?

Each bed has its own manual shutoff valve, so you can turn off an empty bed while the others continue watering. The default timer controls the full system, so all open beds follow the same watering schedule rather than operating as four separate timed zones. However, if you need separate timed zones, there is a place to let us know in the intake following your order. We will work with you to make that happen.

How difficult is the installation?

The planning and preparation are handled before the system ships. You receive a garden-specific plan, matching labels, step-by-step instructions, and installation videos showing the exact system. The goal is for the installation to be a manageable one-afternoon project rather than an irrigation-design exercise.

What happens if I make a mistake during installation?

Ordinary mistakes are expected. The system includes repair couplers, goof plugs, spare connectors, washers, and other rescue parts for problems such as a bad cut or misplaced hole. The instructions show how to correct the common ones, and Oxwhale can help if you are unsure what to do next.

If something gets seriously messed up, let us know. You're covered under the 60-day Get-It-Working Guarantee, so we'll fix it together.

What water sources does AutoWater work with?

AutoWater is designed for a standard pressurized outdoor faucet using municipal water or reasonably clean well water. It is not currently designed for ordinary gravity-fed rain barrels, untreated pond water, or graywater.

What happens if my garden is not approved?

We review your submitted garden information before preparing the system. If it's determined that AutoWater is not compatible with your garden, we will contact you. We'll let you know any changes needed to make your garden compatible. Or, if you prefer, we'll simply cancel the order and give you a full refund.

What happens if I cannot get the system working?

Contact us and we will help troubleshoot the installation, review photos or video, and send reasonable corrective parts when needed. If an eligible approved system still cannot be made to water the covered beds automatically and without material leaks, it is covered by the 60-Day AutoWater Working-System Guarantee, so we will give you a full refund.

Can I cancel or return my order?

You may request cancellation before the order has been fulfilled. After delivery, an unused and uninstalled system may be returned within 30 days, even if the package has been opened for inspection. It must remain clean, complete, uncut, unpunched, and otherwise unaltered. Complete terms are available in the Return Policy.
